Debates sobre 'Estudios Críticos Musulmanes' con Tariq Ramadám, Hatem Bazian, Salman Sayyid y Ahmed Alibasic

Martes 17 y Viernes 20 de junio, a las 18,30h., en la Fundación Euroárabe de Altos Estudios. Debates: “ESTUDIOS CRÍTICOS MUSULMANES”.

Los debates, que se desarrollarán en su totalidad en lengua inglesa, son gratuitos y con entrada libre hasta completar aforo.

Las mesas de debate programadas con el título genérico 'Estudios Críticos Musulmanes' contarán con destacados investigadores y expertos en el tema. El primer día, martes 17, la sesión titulada “Islamic political ethics through a decolonial frame' correrá a cargo de Tariq Ramadan y Hatem Bazian. Para el segundo día, viernes 20 de junio, el debate girará en torno a “Imagining muslims future: Politics, power and the state” y contará con la participación de Salman Sayyid, Tariq Ramadan, Ibrahim Ezzayat, Ahmet Alibasic.

Estos debates abiertos al público, se insertan en la Escuela de Verano del Critical Muslims Studies en la que se dan cita investigadores y expertos. Esta escuela de verano, que se celebran cada año en Granada, están organizadas por Nura Intercultural (Barcelona), la European Muslim Network , y del Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (Qatar) , así como la Fundación Euroárabe de Altos Estudios y la Fundación Mezquita de Granada

Como parte de la Escuela de Verano que sobre Ética y Reforma Musulmana se celebra este año en la Fundación Euroárabe del 6 al 20 de junio, se celebran el ciclo Debates sobre Estudios Críticos Musulmanes que contará con dos mesas redondas, abiertas al publico hasta completar aforo. Estas mesas de debate se desarrollan en inglés.

TARIQ RAMADAN,European Muslim Network (EMN) President, an european think tank set in Brussels; professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at the Oxford University (Oriental Institute, St Antony’s College) and also teaches at the Oxford Faculty of Theology. He is Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, (Qatar) and the University of Malaysia Perlis; Senior Research Fellow at Doshisha University (Kyoto, Japan) and Director of the Research Centre of Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) (Doha, Qatar). tariq-ramadam-2

HATEM BAZIAN, co-founder and Member of Board of Trustees and Faculty at Zaytuna College and senior lecturer in the Departments of Near Eastern and Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. He also serves as Chair of the Northern California Islamic Council, co-founder and Chair of American Muslims for Palestine, co-founder and Board Member, Dollar for Deen, Board Member of Islamic Scholarship Fund, and Board Member of the Muslim Legal Fund of America. hatem-bazian

SPEAKERS: Salman Sayyid, Tariq Ramadan, Ibrahim Ezzayat, Ahmet Alibasic. catel-conferencia SALMAN SAYYID. Director of the Centre for Ethnicity and Racism Studies and professor at the Faculty of Education, Social Sciences and Law, University of Leeds- England. From 2010-2013 he the inaugural director of the International Centre for Muslim and non-Muslim Understanding, at the University of South Australia. Upon publication his book A Fundamental Fear was short-listed for Philip Abrams Prize for best book in sociology in Britian. In 2006 it was banned by the Malaysian government. salma-sayyid

IBRAHIM EZZAYAT Chair of Board of Trustees. Is a German citizen. His academic career at the German universities of Darmstadt, Marburg and Cologne focused upon the study of law, Islamic Economics and a specialised emphasis upon the economic challenges of developing countries achieving a Masters in Economics. ibrahimel-zayat

AHMET ALIBASIC, is a lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Sarajevo and at the International University of Sarajevo teaching Islamic culture and history of civilization courses. He was educated in Riyadh (Arabic Language) and Kuala Lumpur (BA in Islamic Studies and Political Sciences and MA in Islamic Civilization). He is currently working on Ph. D. at the University of Sarajevo. He is actively involved in inter-religious dialogue and currently heads Interreligious Institute jointly established by the Islamic Community, Serbian Orthodox Church, Catholic Church and Jewish Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. ahmed-alibasic
